Located picturesquely atop a hill commanding a panoramic view of fields and valleys in Virajpet town, the Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences was set up in September 1999. It is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and recognized by the Dental Council of India, the Government of Karnataka and the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The D.A.V. College Trust and Management Society established its first educational Institution viz.D.A.V. College at Lahore, on 1st of June, 1886 with Mahatma Hans Raj Ji as its honorary Principal to perpetuate the sacred memory of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, one of the greatest religious and social reformers of the present era. Since then it has progressed into a national movement and attracted a very large number of devoted and dedicated workers enlightened beyond measure with indestructible belief in Indian philosophy, culture and heritage.

Having been established in 1992, Dasmesh Institute of Research & Dental Sciences, Faridkot will go down in the annals of dentistry as the first Institution of Malwa region of Punjab in the private sector. The brains behind this venture, who are none other than its Chairman S. Karnail Singh Doad and Director Dr.

The Institution is located on Kotkapura Road about 5 KM from Bus Stand and 4 KM from Muktsar Railway Station. Nearest Airports are at New Delhi and Amritsar. This region has very poor level of Dental awareness and care of teeth. The Dental and general flourosis is very much prevalent. This Dental College & Hospital will help spreading dental health education and for prevention of preventable dental diseases and treatment will be done at nominal charges at its multi specialties well equipped Dental Hospital.

The Dental Wing of the King George's Medical College started as a part of the ENT Department in 1949 with Dr B Sampat in charge. It shifted to a separate premesis as a Department of Dentistry in 1952. The department made steady progress with constituent sections of different specialities offering comprehensive dental care to patients under the stewardship of Prof TN Chawla who succeeeded Dr Sampat. The Dental Department became a full fledged separate faculty in 1980 with the respective sections becoming full fledged departments.
